DEC VT 330+ is a successor of VT330. My device has latest date codes from week 28 in 1990, so it is about 1990 or 1991. The electronics differs from the VT330, the digital logic part is build on a single PCB only. While older VT330 were built on two boards.
This newer board has an Intel 8032 8-Bit CPU, 2x128 KByte EPROMS (27C010), 2xHM62256 2x32KByte RAM. The microcontroller has two companion chips SCC2692AC1N40, these are dual asynchronous receiver/transmitters.
Für Freunde des guten Klangs, insbesondere bei Plattenspielern, ist Dual ein Begriff. Wie ich in Foren gelesen habe, sind die alten Dual Plattenspieler einem Neugerät normalerweise an Qualität überlegen, bis zu einer Neugerätmarke von rund 500 Euro. Erst dann bekommt man was Besseres. Ich persönlich würde daher immer einen Dual, oft für ein paar dutzend Euros, nehmen.
Und tatsächlich sind diese circa 50 Jahre alten Geräte heute oft noch in sehr gutem Zustand, mechanisch robust, elektrisch dauerhaft hergestellt.
This is a great DMM from the around 1979.
It is called “Microvolt Digital Multimeter” because it has a resolution down to 1 microvolts. Even more interesting is the current range, going down to 1nA (nanoampere) resolution.
This is due to the DC range 20 mV (20.000mV) and DC current range 20 µA (20.000µA). Finally, it has a 1mOhms resolution on 20.000 ohms range.

HP 6111A DC Power Supply is a precision power supply for 0-20 volts and 0-1 ampere current. It has a 5 digit digital input to select the precise output voltage. The HP611x is a whole series of such PSUs with different output voltages.

This is a device from the 60ies or 70ties. I could not find any date code for my device.
I bought this radio as defect, does not play for some euros. It had no power plug anymore, and my initial idea was to tear it apart to salvage the ancient parts used in the 50ies.
Radio after minor repair work
The wooden case was in quite good condition and all switches and knobs were present. So I decided to check for the issues in the radio and maybe repair it.
East german product. With tube technology. From 50ies. Obsolete, Outdated. Unhip?
The root of all this came from Corona agony. I thought: Why not to look again to tube technology?
Device after cleanup and fixing
Last year a friend gave me an old tube radio as a gift. I love the sound of this small Lowe Opta Bella Luxus and handled it like a religious device, e.g. the Bundeslade.
Time passed and I thought: why not getting another tube radio.
Got this one from the owner with the hint “device is working, only toner is missing and there is no windows driver anymore”. It stood in a cellar for some years.
The 1600n is an ADF (multipage) scanner, a copier, a printer and a FAX device. It understands Postscript and PCL. It has a 100MBit/s LAN connector. Internally it has a166MHz (ARM-based) CPU and 32MB built in RAM. Firmware can be uploaded via USB and LAN.

Die Energiekrise 1972, bei der vorübergehend eine Ölknappheit in Europa auftrat, hatte zufolge, dass Autos an Wochenenden (oder waren es nur Sonntage) nicht auf Autobahnen fahren durften, um so insgesamt weniger Benzin zu verbrauchen. Die Wirtschaft sollte nicht getroffen werden, und am Wochenende wurden so im wesentlichen nur Privatfahrten verboten.
Nach 6 Jahren begann der Schalter zu spinnen. Wenn es feucht war, öffnete er während des Fahrens immer wieder die Heckklappe. Das Geräusch der sich elektrisch öffnenden Verriegelung begleitete mich einen Sommer lang. Am Ende lies sich die Klappe mit dem Handschalter an der Heckklappe manuell nicht mehr öffnen. Der Kofferraum ging nur noch mittels Fernbedienung auf.
Nach kurzer Sichtung des Internets zu diesem Thema wusste ich, dass der Schalter von Ford um die 40 Euro kostete, aber vom Typ “simpelster Microschalter” war.
Ordentliches Gerät der frühen 80er. 2x20 Watt Verstärker mit 0,08% Klirrfaktor 30-25.000Hz, UKW+MW Tuner. Siehe auch Eintrag im Radiomuseum. Japanische Produktion. Der Verstärker verwendet ein Hybrid IC der STK-Reihe ( STK459).
Das Gerät erreichte mich in einem unglaublich verwahrlosten Zustand. Siehe Innenansichten weiter unten.
Das Gerät war bis auf eine defekte Skalenbeleuchtung elektrisch ok. Da die Potentiometer nicht kratzten und auch sonst mechanisch alles in Ordnung war, beschloss ich eine Komplettreinigung durchzuführen.
